I’m posting everyday for a week

Big Blue WordPress

Actually, I’m not. I just typed that title without paying attention.

What I am going to do instead is attempt to post every week in 2011.

<begin template>

I’ve decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now. I will be posting on this blog once a day / once a week for all of 2011.

I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring, awesome and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similiar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.

If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.

Signed,

<My Name Here>

A nudge or post idea every now and then would help the cause immensely. I’ll try to do more than once a week, but once a day is outright impossible. If things turn out okay, then that means that I have 52 topics to think about, 52 titles and hopefully 52 spikes on my stats pages.

Actually, make that 51.

  1. Personally, I’m a fan of the Thinkpad tablets. When I was at University with a student’s budget, I went on a bit search of tablets that were available. HP had a good line of low cost laptop/hybrid tablets. I ended up getting the Thinkpad since my budget had increased a little bit. Definitely a good decision at the time.

    In terms of the modern, thin, slate tablets, I find the iPad … lacking.
    The product that I think is best in this class is the WeTab. It’s a German product, but will eventually make it international (or you can get German shipping). The WeTab itself is meego based. That means:
    - Linux
    - Qt
    - Free/Open Platform
    It is based on the released meego core, but since Nokia haven’t released an official tablet UX, the creators have made their own. A nice side effect is that they have also included Android app support with meego apps (i.e. ovi) and the intel app store, not forgetting other spinoffs.

    In short, the WeTab is compatible, usable, open and friendly. Anything Android can do, meego can do to (since they both use Linux). Google have made a conscious decision to make their own modifications, but MeeGo’s philosophy is about upstream first, let everyone benefit. I don’t even know where to begin with Apple’s approach.

    Here is an example of a good product with moral peace of mind with every purchace.
    I should also like to see what other Meego products might be around in the near future. Hopefully Nokia’s own tablet will be something to look forward to.
